1957 RCA Nipper IX tube radio The original deep salmon plastic is very striking with its gold highlights and one of the harder to find. The Nipper logo and dial numbers are crisp and clear. This set screams jet age! The cabinet is in remarkable shape for it age but has two blemishes that don’t take away fro it at all. If you look closely, there’s a small crack on the left side and one of the back panel retainers was repaired. This set has been electronically restored and an aux cable input has been added. The AM radio works very well but you can also plug directly into your iPhone or other audio device such as a Bluetooth module. At checkout, you will have the option of having an aux cord installed, Bluetooth Functionality or FM module included.
Explanation of options
- Base Original AM functionality: The radios original AM circuitry has been thoroughly inspected/refurbished and any out of spec components replaced.
- 3.5mm Aux input cord installed: in addition to the original radio circuitry refurbishing, a 3.5mm aux cord is installed so that an audio player, smartphone or Bluetooth module can be plugged into it. There’s a small microswitch installed, in a discrete as possible location, that allow the user to toggle between the original AM radio signals and the aux input such as Bluetooth.
- Input cord installed with Bluetooth module: Original circuitry refurbished, the 3.5mm aux cord installed and a Bluetooth adapter included. Radio will be able to receive Bluetooth audio.
- Input cord installed with Bluetooth and FM module: Original circuitry refurbished, the 3.5mm aux cord installed and a Bluetooth adapter included. Radio will be able to receive Bluetooth audio and also FM radio stations.
